Jerry Reed, Executive Director
Jerry manages the Home Office. One of his many duties is to plan and run the annual Convention. Jerry has been the CALLERLAB Executive Director since June 1999. He began calling in 1978 and joined CALLERLAB in 1983. He calls for a Plus club and an Advanced club. Jerry records on the Rawhide Record label and travels regionally.
Jerry and his wife Del met at a square dance and were married in 1992. They live in Rockledge, which is about 4 miles form the CALLERLAB Office. Del is a semi-retired Registered Nurse working part-time for Brevard Hospice and Jerry has retired from the U.S. Navy and from Lockheed Missiles & Space Company.
Dana Schirmer, Assistant Executive Director
Dana became the Assistant Executive Director of CALLERLAB in April of 2005 and works from his home in Berryton, KS. He started dancing in 1968 and began calling in 1978. He has served two terms on the Board of Governors and is currently on staff at Kirkwood Lodge providing dance entertainment to non square dance families vacationing at the Lake of the Ozarks. Dana also Conducts caller training sessions for newer callers and is the Business Chairman for the 57th National Square Dance Convention to be held in Wichita, Kansas in 2008.
Dana met his wife Donna through square dancing and they were married in 1994. Dana retired from the Santa Fe Railway in 1996 as Manager of Financial Reporting and Budgets. He then went to work for Heartland China, Inc. as Office Administrator and Controller. In 2000 he and Donna bought the company and operated it for four years. They sold the company in 2004. Donna is employed by Bartlett and West Engineers in Topeka, KS.
Gail Swindle, Office Manager and Staff Secretary
Gail Swindle, born and raised in Georgia, met John Swindle and began square dancing in 1961 under the tutelage of Rod Blalock. Gail and John were married in 1964 and moved to Tennessee and then back to Georgia in 1965. After raising their son, Barry, Gail went to work with the Supreme Court of Georgia, Office of Bar Admission as an Application Analyst. Gail was employed with the court system for twenty years. Gail has been involved with square dancing for 40 years and has assisted John in his calling career. Around the same time Gail and John retired and moved to Melbourne, Florida, Gail read a notice in a local publication, the CALLERLAB Office would be relocating to the Melbourne area and Jerry Reed, would be staffing the Florida office. In January 2000 the Florida office opened in Cocoa, Florida, with Gail as Office Manager/Secretary. Gail and John now live in Rockledge, FL about five miles from the CALLERLAB Office.
John Swindle, Office Assistant and Shipping Coordinator
John Swindle started dancing at age nine in Tullahoma, Tennessee with a youth group in 1949. John served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1964. John met Gail in Albany, Georgia and later introduced Gail to square dancing. They were married in 1964 and moved Tennessee where he was employed with AREO. In 1965 they moved to Atlanta, Ga where John went to work with Lockheed Marietta and later with Georgia Power. He began his calling career with his first beginner class in 1969. John retired from The Georgia Power Company in 1998 and moved to Melbourne. Before retiring to Florida John called for four clubs in the Atlanta Area and has been a staff caller on several festivals. John has recorded on Wild West Records and Lou Mac. John was an active member of the Atlanta Area Square Callers Association for 32 years serving as president and vice president of that association. He is an active member of the Florida Callers Association (FCA) and has served on the FCA Board. John has been a member of CALLERLAB since 1975. John is currently calling for clubs in Apopka, Melbourne, and in Vero Beach, Florida as well as traveling. John is currently employed with CALLERLAB as Office Support and Mail Coordinator.
